Local Search Marketing For Pet Businesses

Local search marketing for pet businesses

“I contacted Hairy Dog Marketing to help with my new boarding kennel business. I had created my own website but it just wasn’t showing up in any of the local Google searches.
With her experience of local search marketing for pet businesses, Rachel was pleased to help and within a couple of weeks, Orchard House Boarding Kennels was top of the Google rankings for our area, despite only operating for a few months.
Excellent marketing knowledge and very friendly and helpful. Couldn’t recommend Hairy Dog Marketing enough!”
Claire Sharpe, Orchard House Boarding Kennels

About Orchard House Boarding Kennels

Claire at Orchard House Kennels had done a lot of the hard work in building a website. However, she had no idea how to optimise the site so that people searching for a boarding kennel in her area would find it.
With our experience of local search marketing for pet businesses, we helped by creating a Google My Business profile and encouraging Claire to ask customers to leave reviews on Google. This is an extremely effective way of quickly improving your Google ranking.
We also helped with other bits and pieces on her website and soon she was ranking above much more established boarding kennels in her area.

Market Research For Dog Training Businesses 150 150 RachelRodgers

Market Research For Dog Training Businesses

We were considering branching out into offering sheepdog experience days but we didn’t know where to start! We knew that Rachel had carried out market research for dog training businesses so we asked her to help us look into it all.
She produced an extremely comprehensive market research document listing existing sheepdog experience day suppliers, what they offered and their prices. She also looked into all sorts of marketing options for us, such as advertising through one of the established experience day suppliers or in the local tourist magazines. This meant that we could cost up the venture to see if it would be an option for us. A few years later on, we are now offering successful experience days and we’re very grateful for the research that Rachel carried out.

Social Media For Livestock Businesses 150 150 RachelRodgers

Social Media For Livestock Businesses

“As a complete novice with anything to do with online marketing, I asked Hairy Dog Marketing, who are experienced at offering support in social media for livestock businesses, to help us with selling our sheep and poultry. Our website may as well not have existed as no-one could find it and we didn’t have any social media channels. Rachel worked hard to optimise the site and we are now near the top of the search rankings in most areas. She also built me a facebook page and spent many hours teaching me how to use it! We now have many followers from across the country and have sold all our available animals and birds this year, as well as hiring out all our rams. Brilliant!”
Alan Raynor, Milifiach Hebridean Sheep

About Milifiach Hebridean Sheep

Milifiach Hebridean Sheep Farm is a small sheep and poultry farm in South Lincolnshire. They were successfully selling sheep, poultry and eggs to existing customers but were struggling to get their name out to a wider audience online.
We carried out a lot of optimisation work on the website to bring the site to the top of the search engine rankings and created a facebook page. As part of our social media for livestock businesses offering, we carry out social media training so that businesses can carry out their own social media marketing.  We spent time working with Alan, a complete novice at social media, until he felt confident to manage his facebook page alone, which he has done very successfully.

Improving Brand Awareness For Pet Businesses 150 150 RachelRodgers

Improving Brand Awareness For Pet Businesses

I was struggling to get my Doddle dog collars in front of potential customers and needed help with the website and online selling. Seeing that they were recommended for improving brand awareness for dog businesses, I asked Hairy Dog Marketing to help. The research they did was very detailed and enlightening. They went on to do some SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) work for me and then some PPC advertising. Website visits more than doubled within a very short space of time and I was delighted with the results and the support they offered.
Sally Pattie, Owner of Doddle For Dogs.

About Doddle For Dogs

The Doddle is a springy lead encased in a pod. It is supplied attached to a Doddle collar or attaches to the dog’s own harness. It’s an innovative product, relatively new to market.
As specialists in improving brand awareness for pet businesses, we helped to raise awareness of the brand using a mixture of social media strategy, PR and pay per click advertising on Facebook, Instagram and Google. We also carried out SEO work on the website to ensure that people searching for the doddle could find it online.
Throughout the campaign, website visits increased by 162% and the website search engine rankings rose to being within the top 3 positions for selected search terms within a few months.

Digital Marketing For Pet Businesses 150 150 RachelRodgers

Digital Marketing For Pet Businesses

Digital marketing for pet businesses

“K9 Bridles were selling well due to shows and word of mouth recommendation, but we needed a greater online presence. As my skills do not lie in digital marketing, I approached Hairy Dog Marketing to help build up my business online. They did some impressive research and immediately knew where to help. They carried out a lot of search engine optimisation on our website including some great, very breed-specific articles that still rank top of the Google rankings.
I’m delighted to say that sales increased by 50% and are still growing due to the excellent work they carried out.”

About K9 Bridle

K9 Bridle is an established brand, specialising in headcollars that stop dogs pulling on the lead. The owner has successfully built up the business through traditional marketing but the brand needed help with online marketing.  She approached us as specialists in digital marketing for pet businesses.
After extensive research, we concentrated on Search Engine Optimisation (SEO). This ensured that the K9 Bridle website started to appear higher up the search engine results pages. We also started a programme of Pay Per Click advertising which instantly increased sales.
We are now working on writing good quality content that will bring people to the website on its own merit. We recently completed a Labrador feature that allows us to target labrador owners specifically. The results have been outstanding.
Sales have now increased by 25% and are still improving.

Marketing Campaigns For Pet Businesses 150 150 RachelRodgers

Marketing Campaigns For Pet Businesses

As a relatively small family team, we needed someone with experience in the management of marketing campaigns for pet businesses to build up the business online. Rachel has acted as our on-demand digital marketing manager, offering lots of advice and support, helping to turn our marketing ideas into reality.
She works on our SEO, PR, social media, online competitions & giveaways and recently managed a big promotional campaign to launch our quest for MIMSafe brand ambassadors that has been a huge success. We’re pleased that she’s now part of the team.

About MIMSafe UK

MIMSafe UK is the UK distributor of Sweden-based MIMSafe pet transportation dog crates and other products.  MIMSafe dog crates are very strong, secure, fully crash tested and crush proof, and are popular with dog owners in the gundog, dog sports and dog showing worlds. The brand is relatively new to the UK so MIMSafe UK needed to build up brand awareness within its target markets as well as increase sales.
We’re experienced at running marketing campaigns for pet businesses and we’ve managed a range of different campaigns for MIMSafe UK, the most successful being the brand ambassador scheme.  They needed 50 brand ambassadors with influence in different areas of the dog world to promote the MIMSafe VarioCage to their contacts.  Not only did they find the 50 ambassadors within a few weeks, but the number of enquiries from potential customers interested in the VarioCage went through the roof.  In one month alone, they had 3626 website visits from a spend of £277.86 on Facebook/Instagram advertising, reaching 107,841 individuals.  The advertising was highly targeted and very relevant, which is why it was so successful.  It was also a great way of promoting a product indirectly, with an area of interest to the target market that didn’t involve having to buy anything, which is always better than adverts that offer nothing of value to potential customers.

Social Media For Pet Businesses

Social Media for pet businesses

“I worked with Hairy Dog Marketing for a short while just to get some good pet-specific marketing advice and guidance. Rachel’s initial free report was interesting and very useful and she gave me some good ideas for new projects and promotions. Her experience in running social media for pet businesses proved invaluable. She ran a successful competition for us on the platform “Gleam” which I had never used before, helped get us started with instagram and her advice about SEO has helped us to improve our rankings in Google. I would definitely recommend!”
Pam Edwards, Owner of Kitty Litter Box

About Kitty Litter Box

Kitty Litter Box is a great new subscription business selling a convenient, all-in-one cat litter tray solution.  The idea is fabulous: each month a new tray arrives, made from waterproofed, lined cardboard, complete with a bag of organic, natural silica litter.  The customer simply opens up the box, unpacks the litter and puts down for the cat to use.  The litter stays COMPLETELY odour-free for one month.  At the end of each month, when a new kitty litter box arrives, the customer simply folds down the old one and places it in the usual rubbish collection.  The used litter trays completely biodegrade to nothing in landfill.

The eco-friendly service helps to keep homes odour-free and means that people no longer have to go out and buy big bags of cat litter.

The owner of Kitty Litter Box had done an amazing job with digital marketing already and she just needed a bit of extra help and advice, particularly with getting the most out of the time she was spending on social media.  As specialists in social media for pet businesses, we created an initial report, full of insight and recommendations, which she could follow in her own time.  We spent time improving engagement and building up the Kitty Litter Box Instagram account as well as managing an online social media competition using the platform Gleam.  The competition significantly increased likes, followers and engagement on social media channels. We also ensured that entrants into the competition signed up to the Kitty Litter Box email newsletter  and answered a few short survey questions that the owner of Kitty Litter Box can use in her marketing.

About Training Lines

Training Lines is a successful eCommerce store selling training and play equipment that promotes positive training methods.  They came to us, after reading about how we can improve SEO for pet businesses, to assist in their digital marketing and to ultimately improve sales online. We carried out a full online audit, looking at the Training Lines website, social media channels and other outlets as well as their competitors.  As specialists in SEO for pet businesses, it quickly became clear to us that Training Lines were not ranking high enough for many of their key product categories.  We assisted the business with the mechanics of optimising content for improved search engine rankings.  This involved carrying out extensive keyword research into key categories for promotion, writing web copy and offering specific advice about how to apply these SEO principles to all areas of the website. We also created and managed PPC advertising to promote selected items further. We're delighted to say that Google rankings for key product categories improved significantly, moving from pages 4 or 5 to the first page in many key product areas.  Additionally, the Facebook and Instagram pay per click advertising resulted that we carried out on behalf of Training Lines led to low costs per click and very high levels of traffic clicking through to the website.
